Tennille Boyer

Director Of Business Development

In college I wanted to be a TV Reporter, so I took a job at the CBS station in Raleigh and I had to be at work at 3:30am. My friends thought I was crazy but for 2 years I woke up at 2:45am and worked from 3:30am-8:30am, and then headed to class. It helped me land my first job as a reporter out of college. After a year and a half of reporting, I realized how incredibly depressing the news was and quit.

The internet was booming and jobs were plentiful. I logged on to Monster and applied for a job at Snagajob. I was the 5th employee and first sales rep, and had the most wild ride for the next 14 years and truly fell in love with sales. And my husband, Shawn, who I met at work and had actually started Snagajob! He cares deeply about culture, servant leadership and just loving on your employees, which resulted in Snagajob being an 8X winner of the Great Place To Work award, and we even got to meet President Bush when Shawn won National Small Business Person of the Year! Our team of Snaggers was dedicated to the frontline/hourly employee, and every single week we read a testimonial from a jobseeker at our company meeting to remind all of us of the importance of the work we were doing to better the lives of hourly employees.

After almost 14 years, it was time to move on and take a little break. After enjoying some QT with my three kiddos (which included an RV trip out west - www.thesummerthatiblogged.com), I missed sales and started consulting with sales driven start ups, and found a gem within Blue Ocean Brain and spent 4 AMAZING years in the L&D/D&I space.

Alas, being married to a serial entrepreneur, start up number 2 - goHappy Hub - is in hyper growth mode so I am pumped to join my husband and the goHappy team (all former Snaggers!) as we now get to focus on engaging the hourly/frontline employee after they are hired. With Shawn's passion for the frontline employee, our mission at goHappy is to help ALL frontline workers feel more valued and connected so they can reach their full potential. I feel super blessed to be embarking on my 3rd early stage company with a product, mission and team that I am passionate about, and I can't wait to help organizations see the value (and ease!) of reaching and engaging this audience!
