Director of Finance
The Director Finance will be a key contributor in the future growth of the company. This position will lead the finance efforts at the company and will spearhead the company’s financial forecasting, annual budgeting, key performance indicator (KPI) reporting, operating plan variance analysis, annual audit, as well as other strategic initiatives across the organization. This position will report to the CEO and work collaboratively with others as a member of the leadership team.
Position Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CEO in annual and long-term business planning, budgeting, financial and operational analysis.
- Drive the annual financial plan and rolling forecast processes in collaboration with the executive team. Refine and improve financial modeling for optimal forecasting of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flows.
- Partner with department leaders to understand their needs and provide insightful financial and analytical support.
- Develop financial models and analyses to support accurate forecasting of the P&L, balance sheet and cash flows, and to support data-driven decision making.
- Spearhead monthly financial and KPI reporting processes.
- Analyze current and past trends in KPIs, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and employee count.
- Manage the development of budgeting, financial forecasting, and data-driven decision-making across the company.
- Develop a deep understanding of financial data systems and flows to ensure data integrity amongst different data sources and uncover integration opportunities.
- Analyze current and past trends in KPIs, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and headcount.
- Responsible for management of all bookkeeping functions and accounting resources.
- Lead audit reviews, including selection of audit partner, and manage all internal control operations.
- Effectively engage with both local and global accounting and finance teams to drive the process of data collection and reporting across the organization and improve the quality and efficiency of the close process.
- Manage customer billing, payables and select vendor relationships (e.g., outsourced bookkeeper, auditors, and banks).
- Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes.
- Lead buildout of the finance department as the company scales.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in FP&A specifically
- Excellent proficiency in financial theory, forecasting, and financial (US GAAP) accounting
- Data-driven with exceptional quantitative analysis skills, including advanced Excel modeling
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related discipline
- Strong work ethic with an ability to focus on complex financial problems; strong detail-orientation and commitment to accuracy
- Start-up experience (willingness to roll-up-the-sleeves and do what needs to be done), preferably in a B2B SaaS-based company
- Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
- Natural preference and ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team environment
- Experience with QuickBooks, HubSpot a plus
